Off the western coast of Norway exists a massive and violent whirlpool that has haunted explorers and sailors for centuries. Its incredible size and force is capable of pulling in ships and sending them deep into the Arctic abyss below. The powerful combination

of those natural forces is the idea behind The Maelstrom. The Maelstrom is a carefully curated blend of unique bourbons, designed to weave together a range of tasting notes into a uniquely finessed premium bourbon. The blend is then re-casked in new charred American Oak and set into the churning torrent of the Great Lakes. The aggressive battering of the casks by the legendary ferocity of those waves, exposes the bourbon to far more surface contact with the oak than could be achieved by merely sitting in a rickhouse aging on a rack.

Combine that with the multitude of temperature changes in that environment, which encourage the cask to breathe in the bourbon and the results are astounding. A beautifully complex range of tastes that flow together in a truly ethereal way, which then finishes slowly with a subtle heat. Meant to be drank neat, its character can stand up to ice as well.
